Greetings!
Tis
the season to be grateful. We at Country Mile Gardens want to
invite you to help us give back to your communities this holiday season
as we host our 4th Annual Christmas Tree Donation Weekend. For
every cut tree over 5' that we sell on December 3rd and 4th, $10 will
be donated to the Kevin J Hannaford Sr. Foundation. This
foundation contributes to the continuing education of children who have
lost a parent to death. On December 10th and 11th, $10 will be donated
to Homeless Solutions of Morristown. Homeless Solutions as its
name suggests, helps those in need of housing and affordable housing.
We are very exited
to be hosting these two great charities again and hope you will stop
by.
As always there
will be FREE Hot Dogs, drinks, and SANTA CLAUS.

Thank you!
Eileen Hannaford and the Kevin J.
Hannaford, Sr. Foundation, Inc. Board of Directors extend a sincere thank you
to all who participated in our Eighth Annual Family Fun Day. We are proud to
report that because of those individuals and businesses who invested their
time, talents and resources, we had another successful community-wide
event. The funds raised from Family Fun
Day have enabled us to continue with our mission to help children who suffer
the death of a parent or parents. Over the past eight years, seventy gifts have
been awarded towards the education and enrichment of Bernards Township and
Bernardsville, NJ children. The
recipients range in age from pre-school to college.
A special thank you to all the local businesses who donated
to our event:

A Glove of Their Own
Baseball stars across the country are stepping up to support a new children’s book, A Glove of Their Own.
The book aims to teach children the value of sharing what you have with those in need.
And The Kevin J. Hannaford, Sr. Foundation, Inc. is proud to be one of the charities that will benefit from sales of the book.
Bob Salomon, the head of the movement promoting this book said "As a little league coach and proud father of two,
I am fortunate enough to be passionate about the 'pay it forward' or 'give it back' mindset that has slowly been
catching on throughout corporate America. A Glove of Their Own is a children’s picture book that personifies this
mentality. It utilizes baseball, and an underprivileged group of boys’ childhood experience. Their love of the
game is not defined by the equipment they don’t have but rather the passion and dreams that they do have."
The book was inspired by a birthday party held for one of the writers, Debbie Moldovan’s, children.
In place of gifts, guests were asked to donate baseball equipment for children who normally do without.
A Glove of Their Own has caught the attention of big-hearted baseball players including Robb Quinlan,
Jack Hannahan, Sean Casey and Craig Biggio.
Click here for a story about the book from the NY POST .
The book comes out in October but reserve copies can be ordered now at
A Glove of Their Own website .
Be sure to click on the Charity code KJH 138 from the drop-down box and The Kevin J. Hannaford, Sr. Foundation, Inc. will receive a portion of the sale.

Nonprofitshoppingmall.com adds non-profit: The Kevin J. Hannaford Sr. Foundation
|
We are pleased to announce that we have added a new, user friendly, fundraising tool to our website that has the potential of driving a significant amount of revenue to support our various fundraising projects. By simply shopping online through the nonprofitshoppingmall.com (NPSM) SHOPPING WINDOW on our homepage, the Kevin J. Hannaford, Sr. Foundation will benefit from a new revenue source specifically designed to drive unrestricted funds into our annual budget.
nonprofitshoppingmall.com allows consumers to shop online for the things they would normally buy, from the brands they would normally choose, and at the prices they would normally pay. When a consumer purchases items through the nonprofitshoppingmall.com SHOPPING WINDOW on OUR website, they're also supporting this organization with every purchase made. Here's what happens:
* The retailers listed on the site determine their contribution level. The amounts vary from retailer to retailer and are fully disclosed on the mall pages, along with a direct link to their sites.
* The amount noted represents the contribution the retailer makes to the Kevin J. Hannaford Sr. Foundation from each consumer purchase.
At the end of the day, these incremental purchases add up to significant dollars - as an example - if an office of 100 employees were to spend $1,500 a month on office supplies, their contribution would be in the neighborhood of $500 + annually. And that’s just the revenue generated by one office of 100 - imagine the possibilities overall.
nonprofitshoppingmall.com features a wide variety of retailers like Target, Amazon, Home Depot, Nordstrom, Macys, Urban Outfitters, Staples and many others, including a significant number of eco-friendly retailers in its SHOP GREEN section. There’s no time like Valentine’s Day, Easter and Mother’s Day just ahead to take advantage of this opportunity -- choose from over 175 brand-name retailers featuring clothing and accessories, home and garden decor, travel deals, gifts of all sorts for men, women and children, health and beauty products, pet supplies, sports gear and so much more. To view what’s available, simply click on the nonprofitshoppingmall.com logo on our web site, have your list at hand and start shopping.
Please tell your friends and families so we can all start raising money for our local children affected by the terrible loss of one or both parents. In doing so, we will turn our everyday shopping needs into everyday giving, everyday!

First Annual Family Fun Day!
The day went exceedingly well, beyond all our expectations. We were certainly blessed. The spirit and atmosphere of the day were exactly what we were hoping for - a fun family day where children and adults could come together to play and enjoy each other's company, while celebrating the life of a wonderful family man and citizen. It was truly a day Kevin would have loved!
To let you know how the day went and how the Foundation is moving forward, here are some quick facts that may be of interest to you:
- More than 500 people attended to celebrate Kevin's Memory;
- Your generous contribution helped the Foundation raise in excess of $50,000; and
- A scholarship award has been gifted to a student at Ridge High School in Basking Ridge, NJ. A second gift has been given to the RAINBOWS program run through the Somerset Hills YMCA.
